These terms apply when you use the Circulus website and tools, or buy from us. Circulus is run by Circulus Limited.

1. General information, not advice

Our quiz, tools, calculators, course and content give general information to help you understand your situation. They aren't personal financial advice.

  • All figures are estimates, based on what you tell us, published research (including Massey University's Retirement Expenditure Guidelines), current NZ Super rates, and assumptions we explain in each tool.
  • Actual results will differ.
  • Personal advice only comes from a licensed financial adviser, if you choose to work with one.

2. Your account and your information

  • Please give us accurate information; your results depend on it.
  • Your links are personal to your household, so please don't share them outside it.
  • We handle your information as our privacy policy describes.

3. My Wealth Map ($19)

  • What it is: an interactive online course built on your own numbers.
  • Who it covers: one purchase covers your household (you and your partner).
  • Access: it's yours to keep, and you can come back to it any time while Circulus runs the service.
  • Price: shown in New Zealand dollars, including GST.
  • Refunds: if the course doesn't work as described, contact us and we'll fix it or refund you.

4. My Wealth Team ($99)

What's included:

  • an intro call with a licensed financial adviser in our network;
  • the adviser builds your plan (about a week);
  • a plan presentation;
  • our network's support to put it in place if you go ahead.

What it costs:

  • The $99 is all you pay Circulus. It's a one-off payment.
  • Places are limited each month. If a month is full, we'll offer you a place in the next one.
  • If your intro call doesn't feel worthwhile, tell us and we'll refund your $99.
  • The adviser and commission:
    • Advisers are independent of Circulus.
    • Before anything happens, your adviser gives you their disclosure documents, which explain how they're paid, including any commission.
    • Whether you go ahead with any recommendation is always your choice.
  • Other costs: if you go ahead and invest, the usual third-party costs apply (for example legal and valuation fees), and you pay them directly.

5. Your rights as a consumer

Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, the Fair Trading Act 1986, or any other law that can't be excluded.

6. Our responsibility

  • We take care to make our tools accurate, but we can't promise they're free of errors or always available.
  • To the extent the law allows, we aren't responsible for decisions you make based only on our general information, or for losses that aren't a reasonably foreseeable result of our failure to take reasonable care.

7. Our content

The tools, course, text, images and designs belong to Circulus or our licensors. You're welcome to use them for your own household. Please don't copy, resell or republish them.

8. Changes and governing law

  • We may update these terms, and will change the date above when we do.
  • New Zealand law applies.
